About Me

Over Two Decades of Miniature Art

My journey into miniature art began in 2002, when I discovered miniature painting through The Lord of the Rings range by Games Workshop. What started as a passion for painting miniatures quickly grew into a fascination with creating complete scenes, stories, and worlds in miniature.

I have always enjoyed working across different factions, styles, and subjects. Rather than limiting myself to a single genre, I use each project as an opportunity to explore new techniques and challenges.

From Miniatures to Dioramas

In 2007, I entered my first miniature painting competition at the Miniature Arts Convention by Freebooter’s Fate. Competition painting changed the direction of my work. I became increasingly interested not only in the miniature itself, but in everything surrounding it.

This led me to focus heavily more on basings and landscapes. Over time, my projects developed into increasingly complex dioramas, where the miniature and its environment work together to tell a story.

Today, one of my specialities is the creation of nature scenes, vegetation, and story telling. I particularly enjoy recreating the small details found in nature and using them to give a scene atmosphere, depth, and character.

Competing & Growing

In 2010, I also began receiving awards in competitions, starting with the basic categories and progressing over the years into the higher levels of competition. For me, competitions have never been only about winning. They have been an important part of learning, experimenting, receiving feedback, and continuously developing my craft.

As my experience grew, I began entering the Master categories in 2012, and winning medals in Europes biggest painting competitions (Scale Model Challenge, Monte San Savino, Duke of Bavaria and World Expos)

Sharing Knowledge

With years of experience came a desire to share what I had learned.

In 2018, I began teaching through detailed PDF painting guides published via Patreon, with a particular focus on base building and creating environments. This developed into in-person teaching in 2019, when I started giving classes and workshops around the world.

Teaching has become an important part of my work. I enjoy breaking complex techniques down into understandable steps and helping other artists develop the confidence to experiment and find their own style.

From the Competition Table to the Museum

One of the milestones I am particularly proud of came in 2024, when I had the opportunity to provide several of my dioramas to the Miniature Art Museum in Las Vegas.

Seeing my work presented in a museum environment was a special moment after more than two decades of learning, competing, creating, and teaching.

Today, I continue to build, paint, teach, and experiment — always looking for new ways to bring miniature worlds to life.
